Sliding Doors
Sliding doors typically have two door configurations consisting of either a doorway with two panels, one fixed and the other sliding or having two outer fixed panels and two inter sliding towards the center. Unlike traditional swing doors, sliding doors don’t take up much space but compared to folding doors, sliding doors have limitation in providing a smaller entrance due to requiring always a fixed and sliding panel, resulting in half the opening being blocked.
Stacking Doors
Stacker doors consists of panels that are smaller than a sliding door. This allows you to control the number of panels opened and fully opened they will compact into a neat stack. Stacker doors are most suited to wide doorways, normally with up to three stacking doors and one fixed panel at the end. If your doorway is narrow, then consider another option like sliding doors as they could be a better fit while providing similar benefits. Stacking panels will lock in place with a top and bottom flush bolt mechanism.
Bifold Doors
Aluminium bifold doors are an extremely popular and versatile choice for creating better flow between spaces. They are an excellent alternative to French or sliding doors and are designed to be incredibly strong and lightweight making then easy to open and close.
French Doors
Aluminum French doors are great traditional looking doorway best used as an exterior door leading to a deck or backyard. French doors can provide a stylish open feel to small rooms. When considering the design just keep in mind the swinging space the doors will take up. It’s always best if they can fold all the way back parallel with the exterior walls.
